Who are we? We are a group of youth workers coming from different regions of Italy: Veneto, Puglia and Sicilia.

What we did: cineforum and workshop Tuesday January 15th we met at Nelson Mandela Intercultural Center, in Via Anfiteatro #219 in Taranto at 6.30pm. Some of us were connected by videocalling (skype and whatsapp). All of us have been invited to write our history with colored ink, to change the world and, obviously, to elaborate the political document of the Taranto Pride 2019, scheduled for 17th/18th/19th may. After we talked about the One Billion Rising 2019, the flash mob to fight the violence against women, organized by Hermes Academy and Arcigay Strambopoli in Taranto every year on 14th February, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, simultaneously with many other cities around the world. For the seventh consecutive year, thanks to the constant commitment of the above mentioned associations and of Anteas Taranto and Auser – Filo d’Argento Taranto, Taranto joins the international flash mob One Billion Rising, organized by the international movement VDay (committed to combating violence against women and girls).

At 8.30 pm we offered the screening of the video “Doll Test – The effects of racism on children” (produced by fanpage.it) and of the short movies “Ignorali” by Paolo Tressi and Elisabetta Apolloni, “Stereovakia” by Filipe Freire and “TolerLove” by Anna Tarnowska and Piotrek Leszmann. The last two movies were made by us and our teammates in Romania, during the Youth Exchange “Eu+Tolerant”. We discussed about the making of and about some of the activities shared in Vatra Dornei and we proposed 20 minutes of Human Library as well. It followed the reading of “Home” of Warsan Shire and of a passage taken from the sermon of the Lutheran pastor and German theologian Martin Niemöller. Luigi Pignatelli facilitated the graphic storytelling workshop “What color are they?”, which also includes the realization of posters for the provincial antiracist march “Sicuri di restare umani (Sure to remain human)”, scheduled for Saturday 19 January in Taranto. Participation was free.
